The TAU Gallery is located in the centre of one of the largest and actively developing Saratov’s districts, in a historical ‘shopping area’ at the intersection of the main transport and pedestrian traffic flows. Saratov is the administrative centre of the Saratov region with great potential for growth with a large transport and logistics hub in the Privolzhsky Federal District. The total population of the agglomeration (including the town Engels) is 1,190 000 people.

The TAU Gallery is under construction in the centre of Lenin district. The public transport stops are located in immediate proximity to the Shopping Entertainment Centre (SEC). It is also easy to access by private transport. The catchment area is more than 966 thousand people. In addition the residential estate of the Cheremushki with a Gross Building Area of 140,000 sq m accommodating 5,000 residents approximately is being constructed in the vicinity to the SEC.

The developer of TAU Gallery is TDS corporation with 50 years of successful experience of implementing the projects in commercial and residential real estate in the Saratov market. The total area of the SEC TAU Gallery is 108,400 sqm (GLA – 79,700 sqm) it is supported by two-levels of underground parking and grade parking for 2,400 cars.

The major tenants will be large federal retail operators, including: hypermarket, household appliances superstores and electronics, multiplex and family entertainment centre. The first ice arena and aqua park with the GBA of 12,500 sq m in Saratov will form the part of the SEC TAU Gallery. The international retail operators, major federal networks and brands new to the Russian market will be encouraged to join the project.

The building design had to be creative, energetic, dynamic, exciting and aesthetically pleasing. In particular, the architectural treatment of the entrances, common areas, mall, cinema, and food court, restaurants and entertainment spaces are all of crucial importance. These spaces are developed to be highly attractive in both functional and visual terms.

The main concept for the exteriors was based on the striking appearance of an organic red ribbon feature, which provides elegance; dynamism and clearly recognisable brand to what normally would be a simple retail box design. This feature façade item becomes the adhesive force to unite the long and simple planes of cost effective facades. It delivers a clear message, easily recognizable, affordable, purpose built and provides the exact quality, which is required by its audience. It is a combined feeling of satisfaction, which we believe is the key factor in successful retail.

The enclosed mall is providing a mix of uses with a strong emphasis on fashion and offering a wide range of shops and stores operated by local and international retailers. The combination of the dramatic central volume and the spacious shopping mall with lush landscaping, abundance of natural daylight, future signage programme together with the carefully selected materials, finishes and colours of the public spaces will create the total family shopping experience which will offer tenants and shoppers a unique balance of convenience and unique identity.
