Salarievo Design Center

260.000 sqm

Russia

2014

Dyer was requested to develop the overall concept for the brand new Mixed-Use development in Salarievo, adjacent to the planned Salarievo Transport Hub. The overall building area is approximately 260.000 sqm. A key element of the project was the integration of the 40.000 sqm office tower into the furniture centre via a spacious atrium zone, and the conversion of ground floor public areas into prime retail space. The centre will also house conference facilities, lecture halls, seminar rooms and world-class educational facilities.

The sophisticated interior atrium design focuses on dynamic forms and natural lighting. ribbon-like flowing lines incorporated in the facade design complement the interior scheme, creating seamless links between the interior and exterior.

The building’s functional and central role is built around a four-storey design centre featuring building materials, furniture, home appliances, sanitary items, and any home accessories and decoration elements.

The architectural concept is developed from the challenge to combine distinctive functional building elements with very different character into a single and unified building mass. This is achieved through a core “nest” idea representing the home spirit in the architectural brief.

The scheme offers an abundance of public space, strong pedestrian thoroughfares and a design that balances striking aesthetics with commercial viability. Blending form with function, the tower’s design was an exercise in simplicity, efficiency and pure aesthetics.

Brand identity and media expression is an important component of the design. Integrating the latest LED lighting technology, the simple retail box facades have been transformed into a expressive play of a nest pattern, injecting energy and activity even into the more humble building elevations.
