River Mall

In the absence of immediate contextual clues we have taken nature as a starting point, drawing upon the natural variety of patterns and colours corresponding to a historic vision of the setting as dense urban environment and fast flowing rivers. This competition entry was prepared in a limited time period but was very well received by the client. The new scheme for large shopping mall in central Moscow was based on the dynamic pulsating city life and the adjacency of the Moscow River.

The ripple effect of a stone thrown into still water is projected onto the exterior envelope, while concentric circles shape the terrain with terraced park zones, recreational areas. Fantastic river views are allowed from the raised restaurant level with exclusive roof top balconies. A light organic canopy links all the elements together bringing the whole scheme under of dynamic movement.
