Pyatigorsk

The new Piatigorsk Conference/Expo Centre and Hotel is destined to be much more than what its name represents. This exciting new scheme is an architectural landscape, where Dyer was selected to create a series of concept designs for 50,000 sqm mixed-use development on greenfield site outside of Piatigorsk.

The development includes a 1000 seat convention centre, 300-bedroom four-star hotel, and an exposition hall together with supporting accommodation.  The design is the very specific result of how the context, landscape with the surrounding mountains, programmatic requirements and innovative engineering come together to create a whole new public space for the city aimed to create the new symbol for the region.

What we usually consider a place for work related events now would also invite leisure, relaxation and refuge from the busy city environment. It would create a new green oasis just outside of a busy urban tissue. The design integrates the park and plaza seamlessly as one, blurring the boundary between architecture and nature in continuous, fluid landscape expressed in large undulating green roofs.
