Adler Station

Architectural competition to offer a bright and expressive external architectural image of a railway station in Adler. The site is located next to the Sochi Winter Olympic venues, right on the coast line of Sochi’s spectacular beaches. The competition was to provide a new massing concept for an existing design prepared by Russian architects.

The client Mostovik was looking for a state of the art structure which would symbolise the new economic boom Sochi offers. The site is ideally located on the beach providing spectacular sea views which were addressed in our proposed concept.

The massing of the building had to incorporate the complex circulation layout of the train station, create accessibility from both seaside promenade and city while still creating symbolic presence which would provide identity for the surrounding area. The concept evolved from the combination of movement created by transportation and pedestrians.
